I am not usually uplifted by the news, but the testimonies of the family members of those that were murdered in South Carolina, have given me so much hope for our future, as Americans. I cannot imagine their pain, but I am so thankful for their testimonies of love and mercy. They even cried out in hope that the murderer would turn to God and repent, so that his soul could be saved.
I don't live in a world of racism. I have friends, and clients, and church family members of every race. I see equality in the lives of all I encounter, but I am not blind to the hate that is being stirred up in other parts of our country. I see it and I can only pray for God to heal the wounds that have been caused by hate. And today I believe I have witnessed the hand of God in the lives of the family members in South Carolina. Love in the face of hate: what more beautiful picture of hope for our Nation could we possibly paint?
I honor these people. I thank them. I pray for God to heal their pain, but I pray that their message of love is NEVER silenced. Hate will not win! Darkness cannot overcome light. Love wins today!!
