Good morning!
The series that I am reading right now is about Jochobed, Moses' mother, how she did not know that God was working in their lives when she gave birth to a boy who was ordered to die. She didn't know that God was working in their lives when she sent the basket down the river. I think it's interesting to think, that she probably praised God for the return of her son, and the saving of his life by Pharaoh's daughter, but even then she had not glimpsed the real story, the real miracle, and the ultimate plan of God. Moses was just one child, but God planned to use him to save millions.
It's my reminder this morning, and I thought you might need to hear it to, that it's our hearts God is after. It's not our situations he's here to fix. I need to have faith that even when things look grim, or even impossible, that God's plan is greater. Jesus' focus was on the hearts of those he taught. How am I responding to those questionable or frustrating times? Am I allowing them to frustrate me, or am I looking to God and saying, "thy will be done"? I LONG for it to be WELL with my soul!
This heart change is not going to come over night. I believe that it's going to be a life long journey of laying down my will, and my control, and daily picking up his burden (which is light!)
Let's be willing to remind each other that sometimes life looks different than we planned, in big ways and in small ways, but all along, we are still children of the King. He has a plan, and THAT is well with my soul!!
