- Why is there now a deposit for my session?
-
We've implemented a $75 non-refundable retainer fee to ensure commitment and reduce last-minute cancellations or no-shows. This change allows us to allocate our time and resources effectively, providing a better experience for all clients.
Our "prepay" option was previously $250. Since most families prepaid, we aren't actually charging more for our services. We are spreading the overall cost while ensuring every baby has their time to shine!
We still offer free newborn sessions for those who need them. If you feel your situation would benefit from one, please fill out the form below.
- What’s included in the session fee?
-
The total session fee of $250 includes:
- A personalized 2-hour newborn photography session.
- 15–25 fully edited digital images delivered through an online gallery.
- Access to a variety of props and setups during the session.
- Can I purchase prints?
-
Yes, while the session fee includes digital images, you can purchase high-quality prints separately to preserve your memories in physical form. These are available in your online gallery and can be drop-shipped to your home. Share your gallery with relatives... they love this option!
- When is the best time to book a newborn session?
-
We recommend scheduling your session while you're still pregnant, aiming for a session when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. Babies at this age are sleepier and more flexible for those adorable poses.
- Why does my baby need to be no older than 2 weeks for the session?
-
Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 14 days after birth because babies at this stage are sleepier, have shorter wake windows, and are less likely to experience colic. This makes it easier to safely pose and capture those peaceful, curled-up newborn poses. After two weeks, babies begin to gain muscle tone, become more alert, and their wake windows increase, making it harder to achieve the same results.
However, we understand that life can sometimes get in the way, and extenuating circumstances (such as medical issues or family emergencies) may prevent you from booking within this time frame. If this is the case, please reach out to us directly, and we will work with you to accommodate your session in the safest and most comfortable way possible.
- How long does a newborn session last?
-
Our newborn sessions typically last 2 hours, giving plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing to ensure your baby feels comfortable throughout the session.
- How do I prepare my baby for the session?
-
Before the session, try to keep your baby awake for a little while and feed them just before arriving. A full, sleepy baby is much easier to photograph!
- What happens if my baby is fussy or we need more time?
-
We understand that babies can be unpredictable. That's why we’ve built extra time into the session to accommodate feeding, changing, and soothing. If needed, we’ll take breaks to ensure your baby is comfortable.
- What should I bring to the session?
-
We encourage you to bring any special items you'd like to include in the photos, such as blankets, stuffed animals, or heirlooms. If your baby has a favorite toy or pacifier, that’s great for keeping them comfortable during the session. We’ll provide a variety of wraps, headbands, and other props.
- Can siblings or parents be included in the photos?
-
Absolutely! We welcome family members to join in for a few shots at the end of the session. Please limit this to immediate family to keep the focus on the baby and minimize disruptions.
- When will I receive my images from the session?
-
After your session, we will provide 15-25 images within 10 days for you to download. These will be available through a private online gallery for 30 days.
- How can I apply for a free newborn session if I believe our situation would benefit from one
-
If you feel your family would benefit from a complimentary newborn session, simply complete the application form at the bottom of this page or visit our dedicated application page. We review each application thoughtfully and do our best to offer sessions based on need and availability.
